Travel Over the Next 12 Months for Australian Accountants

Travel, and overseas travel, is on many people’s list. Looking to the announcement that Australians may shortly be able to travel overseas again, we’re seeing more articles on travelling to many of our favourite destinations such as Bali.

At the same time, many flights are already booked with Australians looking to head overseas for the Christmas 2021 break. Flights to Canada for the skiing season are pretty much booked out, as well as flights over to Europe.

This is interesting as many Australians seem to be taking a punt that the border restriction issues will be sufficiently resolved such that exit and re-entry to Australia within the 2 month Northern winter will occur.

There still is pent up demand from some tens of thousands of Australians who haven’t been able to return to Australia, which likely indicates at least a good few planes will be sufficiently full on the way into Australia. And this just from Australian citizens/PR’s. Add to this the Australian residents on working or other visas who would likely appreciate returning to their home countries, as well as working visa holders who have been engaged to return to Australia.

There’s a significant amount of pent up demand for travel, both into and out of Australia. And based on many other vaccinated countries experiences it is likely the borders will re-open towards the end of 2021 or early 2022.

Given the likelihood of travel resuming, Odyssey is looking forward to welcoming our clients to visit our office in HCM city over the next several months, and we’re re-looking at the Odyssey annual client trip mid 2022.

So if you’re an Australian accountant looking to head overseas or interstate over the next 12 months and need a bit of extra assistance with your compliance work then please drop us a line and we’ll be happy to chat about how Odyssey’s ad-hoc outsourcing offering can assist while you’re on holiday.

There’s never been a better time!
